Dear community members and friends,

We pray and hope that you and your families are doing well in these difficult times. May Allah (swt) keep us all in His mercy and protection and increase us in goodness.

Iqra Foundation is a non-profit organization in the Greater Houston area. While in normal circumstances most of our efforts are focused on community building and Islamic education, these days we are mostly focused on providing relief and aid to families suffering from covid-19 related issues.

For example, we hope to support individuals and families who are now out of work due to the recent layoffs, as well as those requiring support to pay for groceries or rent. Our vision is to provide immediate cash relief to those in urgent need, as well as establish a long term fund for larger community reconstruction.

We would be extremely grateful for your contributions, all of which will go a long way to support the most vulnerable members of our community. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Indeed charity extinguishes the Lord’s anger and protects against evil death.” This is a wonderful opportunity for us to remove distress from our brothers and sisters in humanity, and through that to gain our Lord’s pleasure in this life and the next.
